Program Summary
This program supports law enforcement agencies in establishing new, or expanding existing, Crime Gun Intelligence Centers (CGICs) — an interagency model for the timely collection, management, and analysis of crime gun evidence using ATF's NIBIN and eTrace systems — to identify crime guns and their sources and support prosecution of offenders.

Goals and Objectives of This Funding Opportunity

Goal 1: Timely identification, arrest, and prosecution of armed violent offenders.

• Objective 1: Develop leads through NIBIN.
• Objective 2: Test fire and trace all crime guns apprehended through eTrace.
• Objective 3: Increase clearance rates for non-fatal shooting and homicide cases.
• Objective 4: Decrease the number of shootings in a community.
• Objective 5: Expand access to NIBIN through a regional approach by including surrounding jurisdictions.

Eligibility
Eligible applicants include:

• State, county, city/township, and special district governments
• Native American Tribal governments (federally recognized and other)
• Other units of local government
• State, local, and Tribal law enforcement agencies, including prosecutors' offices

Requires a letter of support from the local ATF Field Division.
